The service of five longstanding Club volunteers has been recognised by the presentation of gifts in appreciation of their efforts.

Sean Noel (left) has been involved with the club over many years, serving four years as Junior Committee Chairperson as well as undertaking other valuable roles at the club. Jim Brown (centre) was former Vice President of the Club for four years, and a member of the club’s Executive Committee taking on the sponsorship role for the club. Sue Noel has been responsible for generating income for the club through the hiring of the Jet Park Clubrooms and arranging various events and functions. Helen (former Treasurer) and Richard Brzezinski were also acknowledged for their efforts and contribution to the club over many years.
We thank Sean, Jim, Sue, Helen and Richard for the countless hours and hardwork they have dedicated to the Club.
Modbury SC volunteers provide an important service to the Club, to the players and to our members. Without their efforts, the club would cease to exist. We rely on their hard work and good will, and on behalf of all at the Club we applaud your efforts. We could not do it without you.
Well done to all our Volunteers – have a well deserved rest during the Christmas Season and we look forward to seeing you back at Jet Park in 2012. |

Jacob Melling has taken out the major prize in the 2011 Messenger Youth Sports Award, announced at a gala dinner on Wednesday 23rd November.
A former junior player with the Jets for 5 years, Jacob was nominated for the award by Modbury Soccer Club after he achieved a sterling year in football this year.
Jacob gained a 12 month scholarship with the Australian Institute in Canberra in January, two months later at age 15, he signed his first professional contract with Adelaide United which was quickly followed by his selection to play in the Australian 'Joeys' Under 17s team at the World Cup in Mexico.
Jacob's trophy and $1,000 prize money was accepted by his father (and former Modbury Junior Coach) Steve Melling.
Congratulations to Jacob on his worthy win!

Thank you to all the Club Members who expressed their opinion on a new marketing brand for Modbury Jets.
Opinions were sought over the last two months from Senior Players, Junior Player Parents, Social Players, general Club Members and Life members and an overwhelming number of you (120 members) voted in favour of adopting a new and updated look for club merchandise.
The traditional and much-loved Modbury crest, which dates back almost 50 years to 1965, will still remain our official club logo but to reflect the Club in 2012 and the next 50 years of the Jets, our new brand will be featured on polos, strips, caps and other merchandise.
So keep an eye out for it in 2012!
